ArmInfo.According to the preliminary data of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on  the territory of state reserve Khosrov Forest as a whole, vegetation perimeter was 16 km thick, of which 360 hectares of forest. The forest fire in Vayots Dzor destroyed grass coverings with a perimeter of about 15 km, 320 hectares of which were forests. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Elections of Armenia David Karapetyan, presenting August 17 at a government meeting on the territory of the reserve.

ArmInfo.The Armenian police have found out the cause of the fire in Khosrov reserve. "On August 31, the Armenian Police received an alarm about the fire in Khosrov reserve. It has been found out that on August 30, around 3 pm, Anushavan A. (born in 1956) dropped his cigarette end on the grass, which was followed by the fire outbreak. The amount of the damage is being estimated. The citizen has made confessionary statements," says the Police's  statement sent to ArmInfo.
